Mike McMillan, a 36-year employee of the Borough of Wildwood Crest, was recently presented with the American Public Works Association’s Distinguished Service Award. McMillan received the honor at the New Jersey League of Municipalities Convention in Atlantic City on Nov. 19.
McMillan, a resident of Green Creek, began his career in Wildwood Crest with the borough’s sewer department in the mid 1970s, before the department was merged with the Wildwood Crest Department of Public Works in the late 1980s. He has been employed as a sewer equipment operator for the Department of Public Works since 1988.
According to Wildwood Crest Department of Public Works Superintendent Joe Bond, McMillan was nominated for the award by Glenn Balmer, Superintendent of the Wildwood Sewer Utility, and Harry Wozunk, Superintendent of Public Works for the City of North Wildwood.
“Mike has been a diligent and dedicated worker during his many fine years of service to the Borough of Wildwood Crest,” Bond said. “This is a truly well deserved award for someone who is highly respected by his peers both in Wildwood Crest and other neighboring towns. We congratulate Mike on receiving the award. ”
