TWO PANTHERS STARS MAY GET 1,000 POINTS ON WCZT

The following is a report from Gazette Leader Sports Editor Brian Cunniff:

A pair of Middle Township High School senior boys basketball players could each hit a major milestone tonight.

Seniors Marcus Harmon and Garrett Kerr are each 16 points shy of 1,000 points for their careers. Both players are averaging better than 16 points per game this season, and could reach the mark in tonight’s first-round South Jersey Group II playoff game against Pennsauken Tech.

Middle, the No. 2 seed in a 16-team bracket, brings an impressive record of 25-2 into the contest.

The game will air live on 98.7 The Coast at 7 p.m., as will the Middle’s girls team’s playoff game against Barnegat that precedes it at 5 p.m.

In addition, Lower Cape May’s South Jersey Group II boys playoff game will air live at 7 p.m. on 106.7 FM.
