STATE LOCAL FINANCE BOARD APPROVES LOWER MUA DISBANDING

lower townshipThe Municipal Utilities Authority in Lower Township took one more step towards being done away with. Lower Township Manager Mike Voll tells Coastal Broadcasting that the New Jersey Local Finance Board unanimously approved disbanding the MUA in the township and have township government assume control. Lower Township estimates $1 million could be saved by the move. The final step will require a four-fifths majority of council to approve the decision to end the MUA’s operations.
