SPECIAL SESSION BEING HELD IN TRENTON TODAY

120px-Seal_of_New_Jersey_svgState lawmakers are being called to Trenton today for a special legislative session. Gov. Chris Christie would like both houses to consider his Cap 2.5, property tax cap plan. It would allow voters to decide in November if they want property taxes to be capped at 2.5 percent annually. The only exception would be for debt service and the only other way around it would be to get local voter support to go over the cap. The legislature passed a legislative 2.9 percent cap, but it has many more exemptions. Christie says voters should have a say and his plan is much more fool proof.
