SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH POSTED FOR CAPE UNTIL 7PM

The National Weather Service has posted a Severe Thunderstorm Watch for Cape May County until 7:00pm on Thursday.  A cold front continues to slip towards our region, and the front is expected to spark some heavy thunderstorms for South Jersey.  Our region has just recovered from severe storms on Sunday that knocked out power to thousands of residents in Cape May, Atlantic, and Cumberland Counties.  Here is the text of the advisory from the National Weather Service:

Showers and thunderstorms continued to develop across the region
early this afternoon. Heavy downpours, gusty winds, and cloud to
ground lightning will accompany some of the activity as we move
through the afternoon. If threatening weather approaches, move
indoors.

A Severe Thunderstorm Watch is in effect until 700 PM EDT for
southern New Jersey, Delaware, and the Eastern Shore of Maryland.
