REPORT: STATE BOARD TO LOOK AT BREAKING UP LOWER CAPE MAY REGIONAL

A big meeting will be held on July 18th to discuss breaking up the Lower Cape May Regional School District.  The Press of Atlantic City reports that a state Board of Review will consider Cape May’s request to hold a binding referendum vote to pull out of the regional school district.  Cape May officials believe that the city pays too much to educate students in the district based on its tax base.  Cape May asked for the referendum back in March.
