PETITION SENT TO SUPREME COURT OVER INCREASED PENSION AND HEALTH BENEFIT CONTRIBUTIONS

The state Supreme Court may soon be looking into whether judges should pay increased health benefits and pension contributions. The courts have upheld the decision so far. Judge Paul DePascale had filed the initial lawsuit and made the request to the Supreme Court. Gov. Chris Christie has said that he wants a constitutional change in New Jersey to force judges to fall in line with all the other state employees. The judge rulings say that the state’s constitution currently says that judges can’t fall in line with the increased contributions.
