Sept. 16. That is the last date of operation for the Trump Plaza casino. Notices were mailed to employees to let them know of the casino closing. In total, 1,153 people will be out of work as a result of the casino shut down. Trump Plaza joins Showboat Casino among casinos set to shut down. The Atlantic Club Casino ceased operations at the beginning of the year and Revel Casino could close if no buyer emerges in a bankruptcy auction. If all the these casinos close, Atlantic City would be left with only 8 casinos after having 12 last year.
