NJ COUNTIES TO CHALLENGE CUTS IN STATE FUNDING

On Tuesday, the New Jersey Association of Counties met in Trenton to discuss their common problems and compare notes. Cape May County Freeholder Director Gerry Thornton attended the meeting with Freeholder Susan Sheppard and said that every county will challenge the cuts in state funding to long-term care facilities. Thornton says that New Jersey will gain 78 million senior citizens within the next 8-10 years. The state cutbacks threaten to affect home health services and Meals on Wheels.
