MEASURE PROPOSED TO CAP SICK TIME PAYOUTS

A bill was proposed in the Senate that would cap the payouts made to employees for unused sick time. Senate President Steve Sweeney is one of the sponsors of the bill that was vetoed back in 2010 the last time it was proposed. Unused sick time would be topped off at $15,000. Lawmakers say that the payouts are only going up and provide fairness to the taxpayers of New Jersey.
