MAN ACCUSED OF STABBING IN COURT FOR INITIAL APPEARANCE

An individual charged with murder and weapons offenses for stabbing an Atlantic City man who later died of his injuries, had his first appearance in court on Friday and was formally advised of the charges against him, Atlantic County Prosecutor Ted Housel announced.

It is alleged that on July 11 Manuel E. Concepcion Jr., 33, stabbed Ignacio Castro, 45, of Pacific Avenue, with a pair of scissors. An autopsy revealed that the victim died due to complications of a stab wound to the chest.

Concepcion remains in the Atlantic County Justice Facility in lieu of $500,000 full cash bail set by Superior Court Judge Kyran Connor.

Murder is a crime of the first-degree and carries a maximum prison term of life and up to $200,000 in fines.
