A new report says that former Philadelphia Kixx star Matthew Maher can not participate in a program that would allow him to talk to students. The Star-Ledger reports that Project P.R.I.D.E (Promoting Responsibility in Drug Education) would like the former South Jersey star to be able to tell students about his experiences with drugs and alcohol. State law says he will not be able to until 2012, when there is less than 24 months left on his minimum sentence. The report says Maher understands what he has done and is looking to make a difference in other people’s lives. Maher drove drunk and took the life of Hort Kap in the process.
