LATEST PROJECTION FROM THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE

8 am update

The newest update as of 8 a.m. put Hurricane Irene on a course that is coming really close to shore. The question remains what the intensity of the storm will be at the time of impact. Currently, it could be anywhere from a Tropican Storm to a Category 2 hurricane. A press conference is going to be held at 3 p.m. today and Cape May County officials will release more formal information at that time. Coastal Broadcasting will keep you up to date on information as it becomes available.
