FOUR CENT ANNUAL INCREASE IN THE GAS TAX IS POSSIBLE

Ray LesniakA leading democrat in Trenton is calling for a four cent increase in the state’s gasoline tax to help pay for New Jersey’s roads and bridges.  State Senator Ray Lesniak says New Jersey currently has the second lowest gas tax in the nation and it’s time to raise more revenue for various road projects.  Lesniak plans on introducing the new legislation on Monday; his proposal calls for a four cent increase each year for the next six years.
