DEADLINE EXTENDED FOR SENIORS AND DISABLED TO FILE FOR STATE TAX REBATES

An extension has been given to those who file under the “senior freeze” program. State Treasurer Andrew Eristoff said that the deadline has been pushed to Aug. 2, from June 1. To qualify, you must be disabled or at least 65-years-old and making less than $70,000 a year. The check is made up of the difference between the amount the person paid in property taxes when they applied for the program and what they pay today.
