CAPE MAY WILDLIFE REFUGE REOPENING TO THE PUBLIC

The Cape May National Wildlife Refuge Beach near Wildwood Crest will reopen to the public on Saturday, October 5th. The Wildwood Leader reports that the half-mile section of refuge beach is closed to visitors each year from May 1 until Oct. 1 to provide a safe haven for nesting, feeding and migrating shorebirds. The Wildwood Leader reports that a free family nature walk will be held at 9 a.m. on Saturday, followed by a beach and trail clean-up until noon. For more information or directions, call 609-513-9349.
