The process of getting power back on is happening. Atlantic City Electric officials held a press conference on Saturday night and said that 40,000 customers have gotten their power back on since the end of the storm. The goal is to get critical infrastructure on line as quickly as possible, including police stations and hospitals. The next goal is to get substations and large electric lines on that serve the largest amount of people. The latest event has still left about 150,000 customers without power. Also, you are encouraged to stay away from downed power lines. The electric company says they only got about two hours notice on the storm. The amount of downed trees has been making it more difficult to get the power back on in some places. Also, other customers from throughout the northeast are without power, so some of the mutual aid response from other electric companies are not available at this time.
