The recently formed Long-Term Recovery Group held it’s first public meeting Wednesday in Atlantic City. The group is comprised of local religious, social service and public safety leaders. They said that some of the resort’s neighborhoods could take two or three years to fully recover from the effects of Hurricane Sandy. According to the group over 9,000 city properties need FEMA assistance and 47 percent of those were uninsured. The Long Term Recovery Group says the only way to help these victims is through volunteer contractors and donated supplies. The group outlined their plans to secure funding and volunteers to help victims of the storm.
